Loving those December 12th birthdays!!!!

So yes I am coming to the conclusion December 12th is the day for nephews and now a beautiful niece!!! Happy Birthday to two big three year old boys, Gavin and Jaxon. What cute boys they are. Time sure does fly by. And now poor Lakin Rohs will have to share a birthday with these cute boys. (Although she may be the most precious thing there is!) So exciting for her mom and dad to welcome a baby daughter. As equally as exciting for her Aunt Michelle to get to be her nurse. I do realize how lucky I am to be able to share such intimate moments with the families I take care of. All the more touching for me to be able to be there with my family. Little Lakin is a very quiet baby. She has hardly made a peep. When she is staking her place at 3 I will be the first to remind Lane that he wanted a daughter like Brianne. Congratulations Lane and Beth. I love all my birthday kids!!! I will add some pictures tomorrow.(Totally forgot the camera today)

A Mouse in my House

So I guess I have a story I can tell. The girls at card night heard this one, but it is pretty funny. When Lance and I were first married he chased me around my moms house with a dead mouse in a trap. Then another time he left the dead mouse in the trap for me to take care of. I was not too happy about that. So anyway, three weeks ago I saw this mouse run across my living room and never saw it again. Then last week I had Avery and she was crawling in my kitchen and I saw her chewing on some sawdust. I looked by the dishwasher and there was a big pile of sawdust. So Lance decides he needs to pull the dishwasher out and there is this mouse on the back of the dishwasher and I let out this ear-piercing scream. All I can see is my husband grabbing the tail of this mouse and throwing it at me. I hightailed it d out of that kitchen pretty fast! The mouse got away. So we set traps and later that night I was enjoying some popcorn and nicely offered the last part of my bowl to Lance. He went downstairs for a drink and came back up asking me if I wanted anymore popcorn. I said no, he says good because the mouse likes it. Looking into the bowl, which is right by my face, I see a dead mouse. Screamed and jumped out of bed. That is what it is like to have a husband who enjoys teasing. Hope you enjoyed my story, my kids got a kick out of it. I really need to think of a way to get him back.

So not creative!

Okay, so I am having a hard time trying to figure out what to even blog about lately. We have been so busy with holiday things starting. Tonight was looking at the calendar with mom and December is quickly getting out of control.
So yesterday the kids had a piano recital. Brennan played "I hope they call me on a mission" then he and Bailie played "Jolly old Saint Nicholas" as a duet. Bailie then played her two songs, "clap hands" and "Called to Serve." Both did a very good job. I am so proud of them and their willingness to play. Also very thankful they have such a great teacher in Amy Meredith.
Today Bailie gave her first talk in Primary, she did very good and she is a typical Bailie. Organized, Organized, Organized. Love her for that!
So that is about it, Lance has been gone for almost a week now. He is doing a remodel job near Ellensburg. We are all excited for him to come home. So I guess that about covers it. Yes I did go see Twilight on Thursday at midnight. Drug my cousin Brittany and sister-in-law Jami with me. Brave souls! Very impressed they stayed awake for the whole thing. If you want to see a good review head on over to this girl's blog for some good thoughts!
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!! We are planning some great food and great company at my in-laws!

Nothing Exciting

Why do I feel like I need to post, but there is nothing worth saying? I feel like everyone is so creative with their thoughts. I surely do not compare. I could start in on one of my soap boxes, but that seems to change with the week. I have been working full time for almost a month now. Night shifts are hard, but seem to work well for the kids. Who needs sleep? Thanks to Marc and Amy for making that transition nice. I guess the nice thing is that I am home to get them off to school and home when they get home. But I seriously hate the afternoons. It usually goes, "Hey guys, How was your day?" Bailie and Brennan, "good." As they run to the pantry. Me, "anything happen at school?" "Nope." They are children of few words. Just want to eat! Then it is quickly on to practicing piano before going this place and that place. Believe me you don't even want to know what the conversations are like during piano practice. I am sure the Thomassens can tell you, as they are just across the street. I love to hear my kids playing the piano and I love helping them learn how to do it. I just keep telling myself they will thank me someday, I hope. We have been hearing so many good lessons lately on the role of the mother. I love hearing and talking about it, sometimes I question if I am fulfilling that role to the best of my ability. I think I need to appreciate it more and embrace it more. Enough rambling. I am sure you can tell it is 3 am and I am tired. Thanks to all you wonderful mothers who are examples to me. You make me want to be better!!!

Conference Weekend

So for all you busy moms who never get to watch conference, maybe this will help. I found this website that has an activity packet for kids. There was actually a couple of different ones I printed. I loved this even for myself last time. :)

Kyson Michael

So finally he is here! I am an aunt again. Michael and Marie had their second baby boy yesterday Sept 21st at 12:14 p.m. He weighed in at 9lb 1oz and was 19 1/4in long. I think my brothers produce big babies!!! They are doing well. Kyson initially had some low blood sugars so he had to spend the night in NICU, but this morning he is back with his mom and dad and doing well. Marie did such a good job and yes I took care of her all night and went home to sleep and missed the delivery again! That is the second time that has happened with her and it happened with Amy too. I know that they are well taken care of and really don't need me, so I should just get over it right? I love having new babies around and Kyson has the chubbiest cheeks! Today I am going to hold him and kiss those cheeks like crazy! I am the aunt that drives all the kids crazy with kisses. Probably why my kids kiss on every baby they are around too. Although I must say Kyson's older brother Jaxon, loves to squeeze and kiss babies. Just ask Avery and Dallas. Michael and Marie are going to have fun trying to protect Kyson from all those tight loves. I will post some pictures later on of the new little guy. Congratulations Mike and Marie!!!

Which Disney Princess Are You?

I got this off Becky's blog. Was fun to do!!! Now I can't wait to see what princess you all are!

My Dad

Today is my Dad's birthday. What an example he is to me. My dad is so strong and faithful. He has such a strong testimony and his love for the single adults is amazing! He loves all of us kids and supports us in everything we do. My dad Is the kind of dad that will listen and not give advice unless we want it. When he does it is simple and to the point. I love you dad and I hope you have a very happy birthday. You are the best!!!!

My baby is 5!!!

I can hardly believe that 5 years ago (yesterday) I was holding my little Brianne Gayle in my arms. She was my tiniest baby and also my most jaundiced. (It only took me a week to see it) Brianne has done nothing but go go go since the time she was born. She has always had to fight for love, attention, and time. But she sure figured out how to do it. I am sure she gets the attention of most of our neighbors daily. We Mackay's are known for being loud, but I think Brianne takes the cake in that department. What I love about Brianne:

1.) She is spunky!!! (A year ago we were at a hotel and the kids wanted to jump in the hot tub. There were sme teenage boys in there so none of them would go, all the sudden Brianne runs and jumps right in the middle of these boys. Soon they were out of the hot tub and the other kids were swimming with Brie.)
2.) She is determined!!! (She was 3 1/2 when we moved to Pasco and she wanted to ride a bike. I tried to help her a couple of times and she was mad. I will do it myself and off she went.)
3.) She is smart!!! (The kids are working on learning states and capitals. Brianne knows them better than the other two.)
4.) She will try anything!!! (Hence the Drop Zone and the Gravitron at the fair.)
5.) She will be a great teenager because she won't be pushed around or swayed by peer pressure and she will speak her mind. She will be an awful teenager because she thinks she is always right (Oh wait that is a current problem) and we might go broke from buying her shoes. (Aunt Missy better save all hers)

These are not the only reasons I can think of, but they are the first that come to mind. I love you Brianne. I hope I can do good by you as a mother and teach you to love yourself and help my driven and passionate girl turn into a strong and faithful woman.

Elder Mackay is home!

My computer is acting funny, but I just want to say how excited I am to have my baby brother home. Matt flew in Thursady morning from AZ. He served a 2 year mission there and I am a proud big sister. Funny airport moment, mom was telling everyone she gets the first hug, and Bailie thought she should get the first hug. Mom won that fight, but Bailie didn't leave Matt's side the rest of the day. We are enjoying having family around and being together. It is so good to see my parents happy and proud of their son. Here are a couple of pictures from the airport.

September is Here!!!

Happy first day of September! Hopefully everyone has had a great 3 day weekend. Mine has been soooo quiet. My kids left for Grandpa and Grandma Bunger's house on Friday night and I haven't seen them since. Saturday Lance and I got to spend some quality time together learning how to drive potato truck. That was lots of fun, until it broke down. Good thing I made him stop at Wal-mart and buy me a book before we started this day. Finally made it to the potato field. Jenn taught me how to pull vines off the potato belt before they hit the semis. That was fun being able to talk to her for a while. Although I kept her from working because she is usually the one driving one of the trucks. Anyway came home and I looked at Lance and said am I terrible for not missing my kids? We haven't even talked to them. He reassured me that I was not a terrible mother. So we talked to them the next day. I was thinking Grandma and Grandpa must surely need some sleep. They did not want to come home, so Lance looks at me and said, "they obviously don't miss us either." I guess that makes me feel better to know they are having so much fun. Stopped by last night and they were having a fire, roasting marshmallows and looking so cute in their farm boots. I wonder if they slept in the tent outside? Today the quiet ends and they must come home. Back to real life. Discipline and chores. No wonder they want to stay forever. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for having them and giving them and us a memorable weekend. We sure appreciate you both!

Happy Birthday Josh!

So I have been on my computer all morning trying to find pictures for this post. And the ones I couldn't find I tried to scan. And my scanner is not working right, so I am disappointed that I can't put all the pictures I want to on, but I will add a few.

So today my stinky brother-in-law turns 30!!! I can hardly believe that I have known this guy for half of his life. I feel quite the sisterly bond with him and, if you ask him, am probably way too protective and bossy. But tough! He has learned to live with it this long. So I am going to list a few of the reasons why I love this guy.

1. He has a great smile.

2. He is kind.
3. He doesn't anger easily.
4. He is a hard worker.
5. He eats anything.
6. He is a great uncle.

7. He likes to have fun.
8. He likes to hunt.
9. He like to ride snowmobiles.
10. He likes to ride motorcycles.

11. He likes to wakeboard.
12. He likes to snowboard.

13. He is a good brother.

14. He will swing dance with me.
15. He is my friend.

Happy Birthday Josh!!! Thanks for accepting me as your sister and letting me have a sappy moment for you.

Passionate things

So I have to make an amendment to my list of things I am most passionate about. I should have put POPCORN as number 2. I love popcorn. And not just any popcorn, but special order popcorn. They are red popcorn seeds and I have to order them from Iowa or someplace like that. Crazy huh? But thanks to Jack and Jami this is the only popcorn I eat at home for the last 2 years. They gave me popcorn as a Christmas present one year. It had to be specialty popcorn I couldn't get anywhere here. Yes I eat it with melted margarine all over the top and lots of salt. I know, I know, but it tastes so good I don't care what any of you skinny people say!!! Popcorn has always been a favorite of my family. Grandma Mackay used to pop it for me on the stove with oil and in a pan this was when we used to have movie nights and she taught me to love all the Rogers and Hammerstein musicals. 7 Brides for 7 Brothers is my absolute favorite. Anyway, popcorn should have definitely been on my list, I don't know why I didn't think of it before. If anyone wants to know what the big deal is, I am willing to share!

No heart attacks please!

I know, I know 2 days in a row. What will people think? I guess I am getting into routine mode again. School started today and I had to actually set my alarm so I could pull myself out of bed. I don't know if I can do it. I will still be dropping my kids off with sweats on, my hair in a bun, no makeup, but my teeth will be brushed. Back to school night was great. My kids have the nicest teachers. Brennan was a bit scared last night, so I asked him, "why are you scared Brennan?" He tells me, "because it is going to be hard work. If I could just have recess all the time I wouldn't be scared." Poor kid. Trying to get him to read is the biggest battle. Maybe I should say poor Mrs. Smith. Anyway, it seems weird to just have Brie around. She is going to love all the attention. Of course she will start pre-school in a week so yahoo!!! She is more excited than I am. That girl loves to go to school.
So what have we been doing in Aug. Well we had the house move-in ready the 5th, but there are still things to be done. I am so tired of the stress this has been. I want to everyday curl up in a ball and not leave my room. Because it is so stressful there may be some big changes coming for the Lance Bunger Family. We will see...
I celebrated my 32nd birthday with some great family. Jack, Jami, Josh, Jenn, Lance and I went to the Gorge for the Tom Petty concert. We ate dinner in Moses Lake at this awesome restaurant(Michael's on the Lake) Thanks Beth for the suggestion. Then the Gorge is of course very beautiful. The concert was o.k. Lots of people. Very different types of people. My company was great however.

Of course then came fair week. Which I love the fair. I can't wait until Bailie is old enough to show a pig at the fair. We ate elephant ears. Took the kid on rides until 11:30. Watched my cousins show their pigs. Avery did the crawling contest. And Thurs night got to sit in box seats at the rodeo thanks to Jenn. What a fun time we had!!!! The cutest thing ever, Avery loved the pigs. I was showing them to her and had her put her finger on one of their snouts. They would snort and breathe on her finger and she would look at her mom and just laugh. Then she would touch their ears and just grin with her big ole smile. She was not the least bit afraid.
Does that sum it up? Through all of this I have been working a couple days a week, which makes me even more tired and lazy. But what do you do? That may become the story of my life. I have to admit, I do love to work especially once I get there. My kids don't like it that much, but I want my daughters especially to see that a little bit of education can be very helpful to their own families when they might need it. That is one of the many things my mom taught me. I am so thankful that I went to college and am able to have a job that i enjoy and can use as much or as little as I want.
O.k enough rambling. I may surprise everyone and post tomorrow. Or maybe I will be curled up in my bed :)

Family Reunion

Wow! The month of July has become a blurr. We have been enjoying having our cousins here from Texas. And we just got home from a family reunion in McCall Idaho. We had so much fun!!! The kids played and played and we love the water. It is just so great to be together with all my cousins. Last count there are 37 grand kids and 26 great-grand kids. I am the oldest grandchild and the youngest is 7. I have to say my cousins are the greatest kid people. Although I shouldn't be surprised because so are all my uncles and aunts. The older cousins really took to entertaining the kids on the jet skis. And Bailie would make them let her drive. Anyway a lot of good memories are made and we can't wait for the next one.

Mackay Cousins

Top Row: Brennan 6 (Michelle) Rylee 3 (Marcie) Jossi 5 (Marcie)
Brianne 4 (Michelle) Cash 4 (Melissa)
Middle Row: Jaxon 2 (Michael) Madelyn 7 (Melissa) McCall 2 (Melissa)
McKenna 9 (Melissa) Dallas 2wks (Marc)
Bottom: Bailie 7 (Michelle)

So we did it again. All the cousins were here and we had to get a new picture for mom. The kids did so well. They all looked so good in their red white and blue. The girls all got new necklaces made thanks to Aunt Marcie. Have to admit that was kinda fun to do. A bit of an expensive hobby, but what isn't? We are enjoying our time together, although Melissa has been working lots and so have I, so I feel like we haven't even seen much of each other. Poor mom has seen enough of the kids destroying her house, I'm sure. I just have to say I am so thankful for both families I have in my life. My parents are good, honest, and the most giving people I know. They have truly taught me that no matter what families stick together. And my in-laws, I am so lucky to be thought of as their daughter. I feel so loved and respected by them and I hope they feel the same from me. I tell everyone, I can only hope to be as good to my children's spouses as they are to me. What great examples I have!!!

My favorite site (at the moment)

Ok so I have a favorite website right now. I am sure most of you have heard about it. ThePioneerWoman.com She is so witty and I just love that I can read her posts and laugh. Her story of meeting her husband is great. Plus I love the cooking and photography tabs. She has helped me in doing some different things with my camera. Anyway. If I knew more I would make it a link so it would be easy for all of you to check her out. But I don't, so don't be lazy, just type it in!!! Have a good day. I am going to be bed.

(2 Min Later)
Ok never mind I can use my half asleep brain, I put her site on my blog list to the right. You can link there!!!

Dallas Matthew is here!!!!

Marc and Amy had their baby boy Dallas on July 3rd. He weighed 8 pounds 15 ounces and was 21 and 1/2 inches long. Amy is a superwoman and Marc was a great coach. I am so teary seeing my baby brother become a daddy. What am I going to be like when it is my own kids? I know a total wreck!!! I am working very hard on not being the bossy big sister. Why is that so hard for me? Anyway, I am very excited and they both know they have free babysitting anytime.

Lance

O.k. so I have been wanting to add some pictures of the house. My husband is a builder and he built us a house about 4 years ago. We lived there 2 years and now are renting our current home. We started building another home and Lance decided that selling it would be a better option. Well it sold very quickly to say the least. I just have to give my husband so much credit. He is so good with all that stuff. He knows what people want and how things can come together and look so nice. I have no taste for that sort of thing. Now that the house is almost finished, I am sad. I would love to live there. Some day I will have one all for myself. In the meantime... we will stick it out. hopefully this slide show will work.

Changed my mind

So I took the slideshow off. The pictures were just too blurry for my liking. So here are a couple of the ones from the slide show.
Wow I can't figure out what has
happened to the lazy summer days I
was supposed to be having. I feel
like it is flying by. We are all very tired, but the kids and I are having
so much fun and poor Lance is working so hard.
Bailie is doing horseback riding camp this week. What fun that is. She was crying because she thought this was going to be an everyday thing for the whole summer. When I told her I was only going to get up at 6 am for one week, she told me I was the worst mom ever. (I hear this frequently throughout the day. ) A lady told me the other day to wear that as a badge of honor. I think I will.
We have been to a couple Dust Devil games. The kids love the snow cones and I love summer nights and baseball. Poor Grandpa usually goes broke!!! It is a fun family activity and Brie was the loudest in the stadium last night. Man does that girl have an ear piercing scream. I hope everyone is having as fun of a summer as we are. Can't believe 4th of July is just around the corner.

Sunday, June 22, 2008

I did it!!!

O.k. so yes I was back at picture People yesterday with the kids, but who could blame me? The girls that work there had told me there would be a truck of sand brought in and I thought what a great picture! So there I went. No sand, but great pictures!!! I ended up with yet another hole in the pocket book. Thanks Jack and Jami for the use of the surf board. It was fun. Next time they are allowed to snap one photo and that is it!!! Sorry the pictures are a bit blurry. Hopefully you get the idea.

So then we went swimming and the storm hit. And Bailie had a piano recital. Oh do I love the sound of the piano. She does so well and it is so fun to see her perform. Thanks to an amazing piano teacher.

Picture Day

I am not going to do a slideshow, but hopefully these couple of pictures show up. We were sweating trying to get just one picture. Nine kids 7 and under was no easy task. I was shocked that we got such a good one. The baby is only 2 weeks old. These are all the great grand kids on Lance's side. So lucky that we live close enough to do this. And anyone that knows me knows that we will be doing this probably twice a year at least. I love all these kids so much!!! Thanks girls for doing this with me.

Also just a fun note, my three kids were so excited to see their picture up on the wall at picture people. That was from our last visit there. They did so good at that one I walked out with a pretty big hole in my pocket book.
So I should tell you all the kids names, but I am having a hard time remembering my own at this point so I am going to sleep and I will add names later.

Here I Go!!!!

O.k. so I have been getting asked frequently why I do not blog. So I spend so much time on the computer I have decided, why not? So for all you serious bloggers that are my friends, I am going to need help!!! I am sure there are so many things I can be doing with my site, it will just take me some time to figure it all out. I have to say I will not be as creative or funny or sentimental as most of my awesome blogging friends are, but I will try. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

So I am so excited that summer is here. My kids are fish! Poor Aunt Connie, we practically live at her pool all summer long. Today we are headed to the mall to take pictures of all the great-grand kids on Lance's side of the family. (If i can figure out how to post pictures I will add those.) Remember I am new at this. Then the kids get to go with Grandpa tonight to Cool Desert Nights. They love to ride in the Woody during the parade and throw candy at everyone. I get to go to work at midnight until 6. I know weird shift, but hey why not? So that is our day in a nutshell. My poor husband has been putting in some long hours. I can't wait to figure out the picture thing so I can add some of the beautiful house he is trying to finish. Did I mention that it is beautiful.?Someday....I will have one of my own.
